Look what's hatching in the Art Room!
Kindergarten students' created cute chicks to celebrate the spring season.

First, we drew a circle for the chick's head and a triangle for his body. We painted them with a small sponge brush.

Next, we cut out the shapes and added eggshells.

Finally, we added details to the chick and his environment.

Pixar Exhibit

The Franklin Institute
presents
The Science of Pixar

During a workshop I attended last weekend at Moore College of Art I was able to tour the Pixar exhibit at The Franklin Institute. As I was walking around I kept thinking My Students Would Love This!

The exhibition showcases the science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) behind some of your favorite Pixar films.

The exhibit runs through September 5, 2016.

I had a great time visiting the interactive exhibit! You'll be creating and building along with your favorite Pixar characters.

Mrs. Barron and I met all the cool characters.

Clay Dinosaurs on Canvas Board

We used Crayola Model Magic Clay to build a variety of dinosaurs.

Wow! The students did a wonderful job painting the dinosaurs!

We added red yarn to create lava.

Writing Connection: What is happening in your dinosaur project? Write about what would happen next.
